Step-by-Step Setup
Step 1: Install the Nex Minimum Order Quantity App
- In Shopify admin, go to Apps → Shopify App Store.
- Search for “Nex Minimum Order Quantity”.
- Click Add app and complete installation.
Step 2: Open the Product Limit Builder
- From Shopify admin, select Apps → Nex Minimum Order Quantity.
- Click Configure under the Product Limit section.
Step 3: Create & Name Your Max-Quantity Rule
- Click Create new Product Limit.
- In the Title field at the top, enter a descriptive name (for example, “Max 2 – Limited Edition Tee”).
- Toggle Enable/Disable Limit to Enabled.
Step 4: Select “Product Max Quantity”
- In the left sidebar under Product, click Product Max Quantity.
Step 5: Configure the Maximum Quantity & Products
- In the Maximum Quantity field on the right, enter your cap (e.g., 3).
- Click Select Products, then search for and select only the specific product you want to limit.
- Click Apply (or Done) to confirm.
Step 6: (Optional) Customize the Error Message
- If you’re fine with the auto-generated message (“You can only purchase up to 3 of this item per order.”), leave Use custom message off.
- To write your own, toggle Use custom message on and enter something like: “Limit reached—max 3 per customer. Happy shopping!”
Step 7: Save Your Rule
- Click the Save button at the top.
- Your rule is now live—only that one product will be capped at your specified quantity.
